After finishing his bachelor classical singing at the Conservatoire of Amsterdam with Pierre Mak and coach David Bollen, Kuypers continued his master study of Opera at the Dutch National Opera Academy, run by Alexander Oliver, with baritone André Morsch and coach Peter Nillson

The coming seasons Kuypers will be a member at the Studio of the Bayerische Staatsoper and will be singing small roles on the main stage. He's being coached by Margreet Honig, Tobias Truniger, John Norris and Rudolf Piernay.

He participated in masterclasses with Dennis O’Neill, Gabriela Fontana, Edith Wiens, Pierre Audi, Ira Siff, Asher Fisch and received coachings by Richard Trimborn, Alexander Oliver, David Wilson-Johnson, Claron McFadden and Ide van heiningen (mime).
Tim also worked together with conductors like Constantinos Carydis, Asher Fisch, Henrik Nánási, Diego Masson, Kenneth Montgomery, Richard Egarr, Boris Schäfer, Bas Wiegers, Jos van Veldhoven and Lucas Vis.
    
Last seasons engagements include Belcore in Donizetti’s “L’elisir d’amore” with the Noord Nederlands Orkest, Peter in Humperdinck’s “Hänsel und Gretel” with Kinderkooracademie Nederland, Yamadori and the Imperial commissioner in Puccini’s “Madama Butterfly” in the Dartington Summerfestival with Diego Masson and created several (title-)roles for young composers such as Myrmel, de Backere and more renowned composers such as Manneke.

More recent engagements include Hermann in "Les contes d'Hoffmann" at the Bayerische Staatsoper with maestro Carydis, Sid in Britten’s ”Albert Herring” with the Dutch National Opera Academy, again Belcore with the same company and maestro Kenneth Montgomery, le directeur in Poulenc’s “Les mamelles de Tirésias” with the Residentie-orchestra with Bas Wiegers, Blansac in Rossini’s “La scala di seta” with director Elsina Jansen, the title roll in Rossini’s “Il signor Bruschino” with maestro Egarr and the NJO of the 19th century in the Concertgebouw Amsterdam and Konzerthaus Berlin and at the Bayerische Staatsoper Hermann in "Les contes d'Hoffmann" with maestro Carydis and Flemish deputy in "Don Carlo" with maestro Fisch. Also roles like Silvio (Pagliacci), Ping (Turandot), il Conte d'Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro) and several other roles are part of his repertoire.
 
Besides opera, Tim sings solo parts in oratorios as well such as the Elias by Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, the requiem-masses by Brahms, Fauré, Duruflé and Mozart, Orff’s “Carmina Burana” Schumann’s “Das Paradies und die Peri” and all of the bass parts in Bach’s passion’s.
  
Future engagements at the Bayerische Staatsoper include Hermann in "Les contes d'Hoffmann" with maestro Carydis, Fiorello in "Il barbiere di Siviglia" with maestro Chichon, understudy Ping in "Turandot" with maestro Mehta, the world premiere of Widmann's "Babylon" with maestro Nagano, Harašta in Janáçek's “The cunning little vixen” and Gregor Mittenhofer in Henze's "Elegie für junge Liebende" with the studio of the Bayerische Staatsoper and Mussorgsky's " the Nursery" in the Lucerne festival with pianist Tobias Truniger.

Next to that, Tim loves traveling, cooking and photography and is under the impression he's the only one in the world to use an Alpha 700.
